Hello world
I'm a refugee of MS and trying to cope with the new world of Linux. I chose this distro and so far I'm ok with it, as I've tried Ubuntu a few times, but the issues I'm having are, I believe, a common feature across distros.
I have a generic mouse. In windows platforms, these hardware configurations are pretty much 'plug and play', and I'm trying to settle with the new reality of Linux where it looks like there's nothing like it for generic (cheaper?) hardware.
My mouse is very dependable, and it's not a branded one. It has the clickable wheel and another three buttons that I got used to use on navigating and reading through internet. I've googled on how to configure it but have been overwhelmed by a series of apps that 'emulate' a configuration of the hardware, most of these solutions are incomplete or are more sustained in Ubuntu distros.
Is there a way/method/walkthrough to install or use a broad configuration that at least have a UI to identify and configure input buttons?
Thanks in advance for anyone helping me with it.
