I think Gnome should definitely be dropped after accusing concerned print disabled users about Wayland not allowing accessibility to be present in Gnome as 'concern trolls':

Before replying here, I double-checked on the "concern troll" thing. It is true. Wow. Not OK at all. Period. And it was said in an official, sanctioned document straight from GNOME? I also just learned that the executive director they let go was partially blind, too. That tidbit does lend an interesting piece to the puzzle.
I am very disappointed in learning all this. Organizational restructuring and whatnot is one thing, but deliberate and ignorant exclusion of people with disabilities is entirely another. It speaks to an organization's values and overall character. I ask that Artyom and Kyrill Zorin switch to another desktop environment for Zorin. Do the right thing.
Don't enable bad leadership at GNOME. Be on the right side of history.

Dear Members, have a great afternoon here at Brazil for All! I've read some articles and news stories on the subject and found a lot of controversial speculation. I don't think we'll have much truth for now, but in the future, when all parties speak out on the matter, we'll know more. I visited the news portal shared by @swarfendor437 and found some very distasteful posts related to Gnome. Anyway, institutions always stick, and people move on!

Is this because of Wayland specifically? If so, then this is another example of a decision I disagree with Gnome... is it confirmed whether they'll disable Xorg in coming versions, or will there be at least an option to enable it?
It's a real shame everything needs to get so political, because I like the product, especially when people like the Zorin's take the time to shape it into something as pleasant to use. Hopefully, we'll get even more alternatives like Cosmic coming up soon (still waiting on that stable release to give it good test drive).

Gnome is very controlling. I will give an example...
In Windows OS, in Plasma (QT, KDE), and in GTK2, hovering over a menubar item highlights that button.
This way... you know where your mouse cursor is. You know exactly what you are about to select.
Gnome disagreed.
Gnome believes that is "too noisy" and they believed that the buttons should not be treated as buttons, but instead be background labels. Ok well, fine. If they prefer that, they can set it up that way. But no...
They removed that class from GTK3 and GTK4 entirely. Because if they do not want to use it, they do not want anyone else using it, either.
They set it so no one can use it.
This is, of course... One Tiny, Small, Little example of a Gnome removal. There are hundreds of removals.
And many of them negatively impact Accessibility and the visually impaired.
That there is friction between any leadership brought in - as they have been doing lately, and the existing development core - is utterly unsurprising.
The existing development core seek to control all others, not to answer to anyone.

I notice that one of the problems with the human condition, is many humans like to control other's, it can be really quite sadistic as well at times. I believe this to be the root cause of the control, especially when there is a financial benefit to be had, morals go out the window.

No. He tried to make this whole Gnome Thing more transparent. Decicions and why they are make.
This Mr. Lunduke ... he makes in my Opinion everything too political. So, I don't like his Way.
Unfortunately still in Alpha. My Guess would be that they overjump Ubuntu 24 and set it to Ubuntu 26.

I can wait a little longer. I'm sure these things take time, and it's best to get it right when it goes live.
