It was a struggle getting it working with the Flathub of Piper saying the API was too old (required 2 presented 1). So I toddled off to the Git and copied instructions from there to get ratbagd built and compiled then installed. Apparently the one in the Ubuntu repository is too old. After downloading all the required dependencies required to build one by one it was installed. Got rid of the Flatpak of Piper and installed Piper from the repository. Changed the config file to match the Dbus list and now I have cycling LEDs and working side buttons on the mouse.

I've been using Input Remapper for 3 yrs. Installs from a deb file.
