Graphical Glitches using Winapps on Fresh ZorinOS Installs

Hello dear people,

I am running into severe graphical glitches when trying to use Winapps on Zorin OS. When launching applications, the app open, but they remain stuck at the Windows RDP session over the desktop environment (see the screenshot).

This is highly reproducible. My friends and I have tested this exact scenario :

  1. Performed a fresh install of ZorinOS 18.1
  2. Immediately installed Winapps and its dependencies.
  3. Configured Winapps to use the Docker backend.
  4. Attempted to launch a Windows application (e.g., Calculator or MS Paint).

We ran it 3 separate times on 3 entirely different computers. In all three cases, using completely fresh Zorin installs, the exact same graphical glitch occurred occurred immediately upon launching an app.

Any help, insights, or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thank you !

I you are in Wayland you can try to switch to Xorg, in terminal

echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

if you are on Wayland you could try it with switching to Xorg. To do that, go to the login screen. Click there on your profile so that the password field appears. when it is appeared, You should see a gear icon in the bottom right corner. Click on it and choose the option ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in.
