I am looking to create a plan for a multi-PC office environment using Zorin. Zorin sells various configurations of PCs with Zorin OS pre-loaded. I don't need to have Zorin pre-loaded, I can do this myself. My question is whether there is anything particular about the hardware configurations on the PCs that Zorin sells, beyond the standard minimum specs, that help make Zorin more performant.
Yes, some hardware out there is restrictive about whether they pass their drivers to Open Source. Notoriously, networking cards.
You do not need to buy a StarLabs computer, however. Researching Linux compatibility in the hardware to assemble or to custom order your build would be just as good.
Avoiding Broadcom; Wifi6 (AX6/7), off brand components that are minimalist would be your starting point.
Thanks
You could take Machines from System76 or Tuxedo Computers who ship their Stuff with Linux on it. But these are not cheap. There You know that Linux is running - even when it isn't Zorin.
