This right here is what I love about Linux. Yes, there are occasional problems, but this kind of versatility and expansion of options is just worlds apart from the MS world.

I actually remember that capability. And like you, I also remember trying to use it in Linux. After several fails, I got it through my thick skull I couldn't do that on Linux. Of course, when I was a beginner then, I didn't know about the many file managers you could use.

Then Aravisian told me about file managers like Nemo and Thunar, each have their benefits and disadvantages. But one thing is for sure, having options available to you, actually matters. Windows forces you to use its file manager, as its embedded into the system.
