Help me! update error

that's it, i haven't installed python on zorin 16, i think that's it.

WARNING: PLEASE WAIT!

Backup entire system first!

I know this from experience updating Python versions.

Use a reliable APP to backup the system, weather thats RescueZilla or whatever, get something that works, back it all up.

Because if the Python install goes south, you may have to restore your system.

I don't understand much, is python so dangerous? on z15.3 I installed and updated directly.

do these themes need libgtk-3-dev library? I saw that you have to install libraries before putting themes

You are proving my point right there Foca. See what I mean?

You can install libraries without worrying about anything. They are just dependencies that other APPS use.

One last question for today, how can I have animated wallpaper with .gif or .mp4? komoerebi when I try to add a wallpaper it doesn't appear, is there another alternative?

Nice to meet you Daniel. Hey hey, no inconvenience.

Its just I feel for others you know, and I want them to have a positive experience on Linux. But what I have been seeing as of late, is people having tons of issues, and I feel really bad for people.

We want people who switch from Windows to Linux to have a positive experience, to be able to have fun. So Daniel, if we can get you to be able to have fun, then I would consider that a win.

YAY! I'm so happy for you!

I love purple color too, its so pretty. I got this Youtube Enhancer extension for both Chrome and Firefox, and it allows me to customize the Youtube page colors, and I got them set to purple.

Oh...And... Check out this Xbox controller I pre-ordered, I can't wait till it gets here so I can take some pictures of my own HEHE. You like?

i downloaded the youtube enhancer extension but where do i make my youtube purple?

Click on Extension ICON. If your using the Chrome browser version of the extension, it may not be already pinned. Click on the extension icon, then you will find the Youtube Enhancer, click on the pin icon, to pin it to the bar with the others.

If your using Firefox, the extension should already be pinned by default, as it was for me. Anyways, just click on the extension, it will be right there, front and center, screenshot!

Yes, I use and recommend @Storm 's method here:

All necessary libraries to use themes are already installed and come with Zorin OS.

If a user installs a Higher version of Python than their system supports, then many applications that rely on Python won't be able to "see" Python to access and use it. There really are very few instances that can possibly require you to replace or upgrade Python.

It does not matter for icons. On Icon sets, you need to get to some pretty old sets before you see any problems and even those can usually be easily corrected by adjusting the index.theme file.
GTK version matters within ranges- I will expand on this in a moment...

Gnome.
Gnome is opposed to user theming and is very vocal about this. In the changeover to gtk3, Gnome deliberately broke theming in order to put an end to it.
By changing the .css with every incremental release of gtk3, they caused themers to have to constantly find and adjust themes for the changes Gnome made. Horst, KillHelloKitty, JamesHardy88, TechnoShaun and a large number of "old days" themers vanished. K.H.K. and Horst knew .css better and stuck around longer... But in the end, they got tired of having to Fix The Breakage between each release.

With the release of gtk 3.20 - The Stakeholders for Gnome made Gnome devs sign a pledge to Stop breaking themes. Though they moderately still break that promise in small ways, over-all any gtk theme from 3.20 up should work... But will not work on gtk4.

Looking up Gnome Themes, you will see older gtk 3.16 or 3.18 themes... These will not Work on Zorin OS 15 or 16.
Stick to 3.20 and up (Not including gtk4) and you will be fine.

GTK4 currently breaks all themes except themes made (and locked in) by Gnome.
