I don't know what to call it so I don't know what to search for but I have this icon on my taskbar that I don't know what is. I click on it it and it goes away for a second and comes right back. I've attached a picture of the icon.
Thanks for the help and sorry if this has been posted before.
Welcome to the Forum!
When You make a Right-Click on it, do You get any Options? Or when You hold the Cursor on it - only holding - does a Name appears?
The Icon looks a bit like Screen Recording but the Monitor Icon with the Arrow doesn't fit. Do You have Screen Sharing active?
Thanks for the reply and welcome.
I forgot to add that I have dual monitors if that has anything to do with the icon and they are set to join?
When I hover over it nothing pops up and when I right click on it it I get the same menu as I get when I right on any part of the taskbar that doesn't have an icon, I hope that made sense lol.
As far as I know I don't have any screen recording on. I'm a 100% newbie when it come to Linux
Does it behave like that on both Monitors? Did You installed any Gnome Extensions (even when they are now uninstalled)?
The taskbar is only on the main monitor. The only thing I've installed are google chrome and Synergy but the icon was there before both were installed
The icon is not on the second monitor when I enable the taskbar on both. Icon is still on the main monitor only after a restart
Okay, let's try the Following:
Open Gnome Software and look for ''Extension Manager'':
Install it and then open it and look at the ''Installed''Tab. Make a Screenshot/Picture and post it here to see what Extensions are installed and what of them is active.
Then, You could try it with disabling the Zorin Taskbar. Then the Taskbar disappears and You get the default Gnome Top Bar. Check if this Symbol is there, too. Then enable the Zorin Taskbar again.
Ok here are the extensions that are installed
When I disable the Zorin taskbar the icon is still there.
That looks so far fine. Is this a fresh Install? If yes: Do You have installed any Software?
Yes it is with only Google Chrome and Synergy installed
Okay, try the Following: Uninstall one of these and see if the Icon disappears. If not, uninstall the other and then check again.
It is the Synergy app. As soon as i uninstalled it the icon disappeared. I could have sworn the icon was there before i installed it.
Thank you so much for your help!!
