How do I see app network usage?

Is there a way to see which apps are using the most network data? It would be useful if I was connected to a metered network, like a hotspot.

Yes, you install something made for Ubuntu 20.04. If when you search the software store or Synaptic you don't see anything you can always do a simple google search using Ubuntu 20.04 in your search. This way it helps to weed out things you don't or can't use.

If you asking for Xfce, Try the Network Load Plugin in the Panel. This will help you to monitor the overall network outgoing and incoming of network. But, For Specific Application, You can choose between these :-
