how does it work with the pro version?
Do I have to pay again from 16.2 or is it up to the 17.0 version or is it for life?

You pay with every major release. So if you paid for Zorin 16 Pro you get all the 16 releases (updates 16.1, 16.2 etc.) for free, but when the new Zorin OS 17 Pro comes it's a new payment.

What you are actually doing is helping the developers recoup some of the funds it took to develop the new version of the OS and to help pay them for their time .... and as the price I feel is very reasonable I will keep doing it for as long as I continue to use Zorin as my daily driver ....
