I'm a new convert to Linux and find Zorin to be awesome. I want to experiment with workspaces, but I haven't been able to decipher the procedure. Somehow, I find myself with 3 workspaces; I can move around them, but have no idea how to utilize them. I can't even seem to delete the ones that are there. Is it possible to rename them?
Are there any tutorials, documentation or other sources you can point me to that would help clear up this issue?
You can set the workspaces to be either dynamic (always one empty one is present) or static (fixed number).
To configure, go to Settings > Multitasking and scroll down to the 'workspaces' section.
You can open different apps in different workspaces as you see fit.
There is a workspace indicator extension for the panel already installed by default to easily switch between them. You may have to switch it ON in gnome-shell extension manager.
You can drag and drop the apps from one workspace to another.
With the workspace switcher in the taskbar (or by pressing SUPER key) you can call up the workspaces.
If you like to use keyboard shortcuts to move the apps between workspaces or to switch between the workspaces, take a look at settings > keyboard > shortcuts > navigation
To always open an app on a specific workspace you can enable the preinstalled gnome extension "Auto move windows".
Install the extension manager
sudo apt install gnome-shell-extension-manager
(perhaps you already have that in Zorin Pro)
then open it and at tab installed turn on "Auto move windows" and click on the cogwheal and then on 
to add a rule for an app. First select the app you like and then define the workspace 1,2,3.. This setting will always open that app on this workspace.
