How-to encrypt Zorin OS

Hi. I would be please if someone who as actually install Zorin OS with filesystem encryption. Id like to ear if this has reduced performance of the system and if it uses CPU a lot meaning more heat and ventilation on a latop ? Thanks.
And how to enable it in installer. Thanks.

encrypt checkbox is in the installer disk step. LUKS on aes-ni laptops barely shows for me.

-boot the live usb
-at disk setup pick the encrypt / LVM option (or Something else and tick encrypt)
-set a passphrase you wont lose
-after install you type it once at each boot

Using full disk encryption does not impact overall performance.

You will have a slightly slower boot. But heat exchange and CPU usage would be unchanged.

Using full disk encryption has other risks, however. So be sure that you need that level of encrypted security, that you use a password you will not forget under any circumstances and that you regularly save backups.

Those risks should not be underestimated or ignored. We see plenty of sad stories here on the forum over time, where encryption has been involved. Ask yourself, is it really neccessary?
