normal installation procedure with officially available canon driver for linux does not work. Specific driver can be installed, however the printer is not doing anything.
Is there in general a problem with printer drivers and Zorin?
Any help or support would be highly appreciated.

EDIT: Can you tell us which particular Canon Printer you have. mf264dw
Is this the linux driver you found. (Canon Asia website often shows more than others)
Also, could you please edit your forum profile, to show which edition of ZorinOS you are using. e.g. Pro, Core, Lite, Education etc. That info will help us help you.

When the Printer is enabled, do You see it in Settings>Printers?

Just installing the printer driver does not mean it will come to life like Windows.
