So im trying to install zorin but when i get to the installation type part it is forcing me to make a custom partition table and i tried looking it up and following the install tutorial but every partition table ive tried has had a error and made me remake my bootable usb. Is there a way i can avoid makeing the partition table or is am i doing something wrong with this table
I just realized that it is only showing 32gbs worth of space is it possible it is trying to install onto my bootable usb by accident
It would appear so. It could be that the installation medium cannot find your Hard Drive. If it has/had Windows on it, the BIOS settings for the HDD are usually set to RAID; change it to AHCI.
This laptop is completely empty and the bios is set for ahci
Your screenshot shows SDC, tells me that it is a USB stick.
At the bottom, you see "Device for bootloader installation" and there is a Drop Down Menu.
Click that down arrow to select a different device.
The only other option says usb stick at the end
I ran a new bootable usb and in that used the disks app to reformat my main drive and now it works
