How to widen area of date and time in taskbar?

When I try to enlarge the text of date and time at the taskbar, it displays in 2 lines. How can I widen that part to accommodate for larger text size in one line? My vision is not so well.

Have you tried increasing the panel height along with adjusting the Clock plugin > Font size?

I never noticed this as I only usually display the time, but if I update the Clock options to display both date and time, it's showing one on top of the other as well.

This is on Debian 12 with XFCE, though, but I found a way to fix this by using a custom format, taken from XFCE's panel documentation. You have to select "Custom Format" describing how you want things to show up:

The linked documentation describes what each of these symbols mean.

Thanks very much. I followed your tip as follows:
time and date:
right-click the clock in taskbar, select properties
make it date only, custom format:
%I:%M:%S - %A %d %B
this will display time and date in one line
