I really like a lot about Wayland. Better security and no video stuttering issues like I get with X11 from time to time. But whenever I switch to it, other things start glitching out. Mainly Steam and some Bottles games I have installed. I have an AMD laptop that has none of these issues with the same apps.
Anyone have a solution for this?
Are you using nvidia drivers? I only use Nouveau drivers on X11/xorg.

Is Steam installed as Flatpak or .deb Version? What Graphics Cards are You have in the Machines? How are Resolution and refresh Rate set up? Is Fractional Scaling active?

Deb version. Flatpak always gave me trouble. 4K 120 fps. But I should note the games themselves run fine. It's really just the Steam client that has a ton of glitchiness. Same thing back when I was on Ubuntu.
I use the open kernel 590 proprietary driver. Nouveau couldn't go above 60 fps when I last used it and I do a lot of local AI stuff that I need Cuda for.

Which GPU are you using?
As it is, compatibility with Wayland is part of driver building - there is a lot of complexity there. This is really not something the average user can patch or fix...

I have a 3080. And yeah, it's honestly not a huge deal. Still looks great and a lot of things work better. I wish Nvidia would get with the times a bit and/or open source their drivers. Almost definitely going with AMD for the next GPU. I recall all of these issues under Cachy and Ubuntu too, both of which prefer Wayland.
Also, in retrospect, I think the video glitching may be because I block certain browser functions that expose the GPU, but those same functions also speed up a lot of Java stuff. Sticking with X11 for now.
Thanks all for the replies though!
Resolved most glitchiness from just reinstalling the Bottles apps under Wayland. Steam's UI is still gltichy, but it was in Ubuntu too with Wayland. Probably more of a Steam specific issue.
