My early experiences with Zorin weren't great!. I had tried it before in the past but found it just didn’t like my Openmediavault NAS setup. One minute it was there and for no apparent reason the next it was inaccessible, and Debian although not as slick just worked.
So Christmas 2025 I thought I’d give it another go, and it worked well; All gremlins gone, and once I had Dolphin working it quickly became my favourite. I have Zorin working on 3 pc’s now.
There was a bit of a hiccup last year when, probably due to my lack of understanding how Linux works; V18.0 surfaced and maybe I was a little to quick upgrading, but I got there with a bit of reading on the forum, and its been my default operating system since.
I was all set to purchase Pro a week ago, but sadly Zorin bought out V18.1 which automatically upgraded and messed with my boot-up system so that’s on the back-burner for a while until I feel a bit more confident with it.
The nice thing about Zorin is that everything works straight off, and apart from installing a Gnome clock widget, Dolphin and a PDF editor I don’t have much need fro anything else. And now that I’ve managed to sort out my boot problem its super fast and just works. Its Good.
