I successfully installed waydroid but get blackscreen

Hi all, pls help, I run zorin os 18 pro. I successfully installed waydroid.
My issue is it gives me black screen at every startup attempt. I changed height and width and enabled multiwindow as that's what I read in other posts here. My system already defaults to wayland. but upon all, i still get black screen.

Waydroid already created shortcuts for contacts, messages and play store but even if I click any of them, I still get black screen. pls help. I run my Zorin os on Vmware inside windows 11. I also believe I hear android startup sound but still get blackscreen. pls help

Maybe it doesn't like the VM. Can You install Zorin as Dual-Boot?

Waydroid must be run in Wayland, as well - if running Zorin OS on VM inside Windows, it likely defaulted to X11 instead of Wayland.

Oh, when Zorin runs in a VM, it runs in X11 by default? Good to know.

It may be...

Most of the time it will, but it depends on your hypervisor configuration.

In that case, I suspect the issue is in the second GPU abstraction layer of running in the VM itself.
Waydroid is an emulator - running it within an emulator; it cannot reach the graphics in order to display what it is supposed to.

I'm not sure if this can help you:

You need to disable the hardware acceleration.

the above 2 are the files i am using, perhaps I am using the wrong ones?

I've never install yet Waydroid myself, but maybe this thread can help you:
