Installed WinBoat and Windows 11 in Zorin 18, and internal optical drive went missing

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad W540 with Zorin 18 installed. That part is great. I can listen to music cd's using VLC as long as I stay in Zorin. I installed WinBoat and Windows 11 to run some proprietary software, but when I downloaded VLC and wanted to listen to music cd's, the internal optical drive was not recognized. There is no 'CD/DVD' anything in Device Manager. I uninstalled the driver for IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and rebooted. Those came back, but the optical drive is still missing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hm, I don't know how to do this and how to configure the passthrough in configuration files. A feature request exists

I only found a guide for an external USB DVD reader
