Installing Zorin 17

I am stuck. I have an Acer 4820T laptop and years ago I installed Zorin OS 9 on it. I have been trying to get into my bios to change the boot order so I can install Zorin 17 core instead. But everytime I press the Del, F2, F12 or ESC keys all it does is give me a Zorin menu which consists of the following:

Zorin
Advanced options for Zorin
Memory test (memtest86+)
Memory test (memtest86+, serial console 115200)

How can I get in to change the boot order so I can install Zorin 17?

First: be sure what Key opens the Boot Menu.

Then completely turn off Your Machine - not Sleep Mode, Stand-By or something like that, complete off. Then press the Power Button to start and immediately after pressing the Power Button press the Button to start the Boot Menu again and again and again until the Menu appears. It maybe sounds a bit stupid to do it like this. But it should work.

Another Option would be to go in your BIOS and start the Stick from there.

Did you try with F1 too?

Another option, if you can enter in old installed Zorin, is to run this command to restart directly in Bios.

systemctl reboot --firmware-setup

Eventually I did run down all the F numbers, but no luck.. I only mentioned the few I did because those were the common ones. I can get into the old system, I will try the command you posted. Thank you both.

Can be run without sudo.

If it showed this message then, unfortunately, this command will not work on your machine.

From what I researched, the key to enter the bios, on this model, is F2.

Try one more time. This time hold down the F2 key and then press the power key. Keep F2 pressed until you enter bios. (we hope ).

This shouldn't be necessary, but as it doesn't work just by pressing F2 several times, it's worth a try.
