Is it safe to install Virtualbox from the repo now for Kernel 7.0?

Yesterday I un-installed Virtualbox after a Timeshift then updated to Kernel 7.0 as recommended using the terminal commands sudo apt update and sudo apt dist-upgrade...

No issues everything went smooth and the Nvidia Drivers work perfectly.

This morning went through another round of updates and it installed the latest and greatest Nvidia driver on the 580 Branch and again everything is running great right now :smile:

My question... Is it safe now to install Oracle Virtualbox from the repo? I saw mentioned in another thread that an updated Virtualbox has been back ported that fixes the KVM issue with AMD Processors...

But when I look in the repo it appears to be the same old version (7.0.16) as before?

It should be okay now. As You already mentioned: there were made Uploades for Fixes.

Or if You not convinced, You can add the VirtualBox Repo:

For Zorin 18 take ''noble'' for the Repo.

I'll look at that but I prefer Oracle Virtualbox.

I have set the auto-magic updates from "download and install" to pop-up and notify that way I can select "Remind me later" and perform a snapshot with Timeshift if the updates are with a kernel update, new Nvidia Driver, etc.
