JBL Charge 6 wired - doesn't show as output device

I want to use a JBL Charge 6 via wired USB-C connection.

Bluetooth works fine, as does wired connection to my phone.

When plugged in (after holding play) the device is recognised, but doesn't appear as an output device.

What do I need to do to make this work?

Looks like the drivers don't recognise it as an output device...

Thanks

Did You checked it Pulse Audio Volume Control? If not, You can install it with the Command sudo apt install pavucontrol

When installed, check the Configuration and Output Tab's for Audio Options and available Profiles.

Is this dirct USB-C to USB-C or is there any Adapter, Hub or Dock?

Thanks for the reply

The device doesn't show in the normal Sound Settings as an output nor in pavucontrol.

Its connected directly with a USB-C male-to-male cable, and I've also tried a usb A-C cable on a different port on my laptop. lsusb and dmesg outputs are the same under both scenarios.

....

Update
After a combination of rebooting and plugging in and out, it seems to have started working.

Does it appear in Settings>Sound and/or Pulse Audio now that it is working?
