Latest kdenlive version

Hello,
I’m using Zorin OS 18.1 with the latest version of Kdenlive (23.08). I was just wondering why you aren’t providing a more recent version, given that it was released in 2023. I know I can install the Flatpak version directly from Flathub, but I’d prefer a native version.
Thank you

Because Zorin 18 is based on ubuntu 24.04 which is a LTS distribution. The most native packages are well tested and frozen so that they don't break the system. For the latest versions of apps you can use flatpaks or snaps which are sandboxed from the system, or Appimages. These packages bring with their own dependencies.

For a video editor I would be careful with mixing newer KDE packages from random PPAs into an LTS base. Kdenlive pulls a lot of KDE/Qt/MLT dependencies, so a “native” newer deb can easily become less stable than the Flatpak. If you only need a newer Kdenlive and not a newer desktop stack, the Flatpak or AppImage is usually the cleaner compromise: keep the OS packages stable, update the editor separately, and avoid replacing half of the multimedia stack.

Exactly what @Forpli said...
