At the risk of sounding dramatic, the latest update of Zorin broke a few things for me. Every time I open my browser (Vivaldi), it now opens slightly off-screen, so I have to double click the top bar to maximize it. It also broke the transition from my 1440p monitor to my 1080p TV. It used to be able to change the audio input automatically, but now I have to manually change it every time I switch to my TV and back to my monitor ... which is REALLY annoying. I have a feeling these two issues are related, but I don't know how to fix them. I also have an issue with those stupid keyrings every time I open my browser after a restart. I literally have to type a key ring in three times to open the browser. I don't know why this is a thing, but it's also really annoying. I looked up how to change it, and it (sort of) worked for a while, but now it's doing it again. These are all mostly minor bugs, but they do add up to make it frustrating experience.
one of the best places to report bugs is the send feedback application which sends you to the suggestions and bug reports form for Zorin OS,
If you report this issue it has guaranteed visibility, posting in the forums means it can potentially get swamped by others posts etc.
Its crucial when you do report issues you specify how it worked before, and how it works now and also mention as much as you can, what hardware you are using.
hope this helps
Just to clarify, are you using Zorin OS 17 or are you trying the beta version for Zorin OS 18? It would be good to know if it's the latter, as there are still a number of issues pending to be fixed.
As for the password keyring, this usually happens when you have auto-login enabled, since the keyring is unlocked at login, using your own password by default. Three times in a row seems excessive, though. Did you install Vivaldi through the software store? And what did you already try to fix this?
Sorry for the late response, but I actually installed it through the repository because the version found in the software centre is notoriously janky.
sudo apt update
sudo apt install vivaldi-stable
I tried using the centre new windows feature in Zorin Appearance, as well as the "Spread" function, but no such luck. It seems clear that this is somehow tied to the resolution of my TV and monitor, since Zorin seems to struggle switching between two different displays (especially if they are different resolutions).
This is what's happening when I open my browser.
Thanks, I submitted the feedback.
