I have been using Zorin OS Core 16, then 17.1 for quite some time now.
I want to upgrade to Pro, but I have several questions - Sorry if not allowed, I am a noob Linux user. Primarily a Windows user for life.
What is the duration of a license once purchased?
Will I have to pay anything when a new version like 17.2 or 18 etc launched?
When a completely new version, launched, do I need to reinstall from scratch and blank my SSD?
After buying the Pro license, what kind of support will I receive from Team Zorin?
Do you mean "How long time" when you say duration?
Point release will always be free XX.1 XX.2 XX.3 but completely new release like 16 17 and 18 aren't free.
Zorin comes now with an upgrade tool, so you can purchase the Pro and upgrade core to Pro and/or 16 to 17.
Installation support mostly, but if you face other problems you can contact them. Note they are quite busy so there can go some time before they responds (Zorins are two brothers running this business). But there always the forums with a huge amount of info and people willingly help you.
Personally, nothing quite beats doing a fresh install of an OS. I have seen mixed reviews of the Zorin Upgrader. Some have gone smoothly, while others have baulked.
Sounds like a plan! I would use Rescuezilla to make an image of your complete system and backup your /home folder separately, including hidden files which hold your app settings.
