Maybe there's a problem with
the Intel graphics drivers and Zorin OS 18. I've noticed that in certain usage situations, the color seems unnatural and lacks brightness or something. On YouTube, the red in the player bar seems to lose color quality. In the Color settings, the automatic profile gives me the following warning: "With this profile, full-screen correction is not possible." I don't know what this means, but it's not a good sign. To the experts on this topic, ask for support to try to resolve the issue. The color in the restart menu has also changed to a saturated red with the name "restart" changed to red. I don't know if this is temporary or what, but it's still awful.
I use a 2014 MacBook Air 13 with an Intel i5 4th-generation processor and an integrated Intel HD 5000 graphics card.
(1) On the Youtube player, you will see a "gear" button. Click it, and disable the "Ambient Mode," toggle, Its your typical Google manipulation, it plays with your colors when enabled.
Regarding the colors of your OS theme, the only thing I know about that, would be to go to "Start Menu," "Zorin Appearance." Select "Theme," Choose a color for your OS here...
Regarding drivers, if your using integrated Intel GPU, the drivers are already in the kernel. And if your using kernel 6.8 or above, the 5,000 series should already be in there. I suspect its not driver related.
Just incase however, please post the results of sudo lshw -C display from the terminal, in your reply
You could try it with switching to Xorg. To do that, go to the Login Screen, not the Lock Screen. Simply reboot for that. On the Login Screen click on Your Profile so that the Password Field appears. When it is appeared, You should see in the bottom right Corner a Gear Icon. Click on it and choose the Option ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in.
HI,
But shouldn't that be set automatically instead of having to figure out which one works best for certain preset profiles? I tried one called d65 unico, which works, but it leaves the screen too blue. Not good.
VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
and for what you wrote here, it says: atomic mode settings. card1 (i915).
Hmm, no logged errors.
Well, have you tried adjusting the Monitor settings to correct the color profile?
I know automatic is preferred, but if the automatic is not working...
When I got my new monitor, the first thing I did after turning it on, was go through the monitor setup menu, and I took off default/automatic, and selected the RGB color gamet profile. It worked too, cause the Nvidia Server Settings info tab confirmed it. Anyways, thats a great idea, and I think the OP should do that.
