When you click on the menu option by right clicking or using the context menu button on the keyboard, the magnified view does not move directly over to the menu that you are on nor does it track it. The only way you know that you are there is if you either have your magnified view back to 1x and / or Orca screen reader reading off the menu options to you. Under Accessibility options - Zoom - Screen Area is set to Fullscreen; Mouse is set to follow the Mouse Cursor. I cannot find a Text Cursor option in Zorin OS Core 18.1
Cross hairs could work, but it still does not solve the menu being misaligned. Could it be my fonts are too big? What fonts should a visually impaired person use on Zorin OS in order to make the system more usable and allow for the proper tracking of the magnified view, including the menu system? Is there an overlay or an advanced Accessibility Script for Terminal that will fix this issue? Orca can read things fine, I can see what I am typing if I am closer to my screen; I can make my screen magnified to 175% to make this post I am typing easier to see. . Just trying to figure out this menu issue. I don't really want to use crosshairs to find the menu options although I have to physically move the mouse to the menu in order to see it rather than the screen jumping to that point.
Question: I have both Intel and NVIDIA graphics on this system. Could this be conflicting with the magnified view in any way, even thoguh NVIDIA is being used? There has to be a way to properly track magnified views.

Hi, I need to spend some time on looking at what is available.
My last job before I retired was as a Vision Support Technician, creating Braille and Large Print for students in Primary (Elementary), Secondary (High School) and College (Further Education) students.
On a training course I attended, I was advised not to make Menu fonts any larger than 15 pts. So it might be worth starting at this point before anything else.
So tap the Windows key to get the menu up then start type:
Zorin Appearance and then press the Enter key.
When Zorin Appearance launches go to the last entry on the left, Fonts.
Here you can change the font of your choosing and also the size of the font.
If you alt-Tab, you can get the cursor to track. At this point, I need to zoom out then back in constantly to get it to work, but alas, it keeps passing the ede of the screen, this sort of works, but you need to cursor back and forth. The cursor should follow, but it is not completely working properly. What am I doing wrong here?
The mouse should follow all menus as well, but it is not. You have to actually cursor back in order for this to work properly. One you cursor back then the tracking will "work" in a text box.
As for clicking in the menus, you should be able to do this as well, too. The mouse should go right to that menu option or to that icon of choice that the User clicks on somehow. If you have or if you know of someone having a script for this, please send it along. I understand that Accessible Coconut is around, but I do not see this as a good solution for us because it is not being updated as regularly as Zorn. Are there some programs from there we can get that will help those of us who need them to make Zorin even more accessible?
Yes, just cursor back before the period, then you can type away... Just don't type past, or you will go off the edge of the screen and magnified view will not be followed at all.
The issue now is the mouse / menu / icon thing, getting the mouse to jump to the menus and icons or points of interest on the Zorin desktop as the User needs to get there will make it more easier to deal with. Is there a way that this can be coded in so that I can do this a lot better?
Here is another discovery I made in magnified view. In order to make the mouse go to where you want it to, use the numberpad / key with numberpad 0 to make the mouse go to the cursor view. Is there a way to write a script to have the mouse do this each time you want it to? That is, with number pad disabled for Orca to work, have the mouse cursor go to the menu view or icons of choice, or the web link, or a button on the desktop, without having to arrow down, then repeat teh same process again each time you want the mouse to snap to that position? Can someone write a script for this, please? Would be greatly appreciated as I am not good with coding such things. Thank you.
In respect of launching apps, how would you feel about using Alt+ F2 to launch a command line? Once there you only need to type in the name of the application, e.g., firefox followed by the Enter key to launch the Firefox browser?
