hello! I'm new to Linux and stuff so this may be a simple fix for the pros, but I just switched today and my mic isn't working, tested in multiple programs and zero input, output works fine tho, tried a couple fixes but none worked
(it is recognized btw, regular mic, not internal, not headset mic)
Hi and welcome.
Is this a notebook or Desktop computer?
Is the Micriphone attached to a port on the front of the machine if a Desktop?
Here is a help site of Zorin:
You can install pavucontrol.
Look that your microphone is not muted.
You can run alsamixer from terminal, choose your soundcard and check the microphone. When there is shown MM, it is muted.
Welcome to the Forum!
How do You know that?
It shows up as USB condenser microphone mono like it did in windows however no sound comes out
desktop, plugged into the back into the mobo
Did You checked if the Mic is muted?
it isn't muted, I realized the maximum 100% output is -2.00db how can I put it past 100% since when at minium it's -50 then goes to -2
I'm checking alsamixer rn the volume is 100% and it says dB gain: -2,00
imma make a new topic abt this since the issue seems different than just the mic not working after checking and knowing the problem
You mean overamplified?
When You go to Settings>Audio and Your Mic is listed there, You should find there a Toggle to activate it.
