Microphone and speakers don't work in Zorin OS 15

It was the same when I using the install USB in the try mode. I decided to continue with the install because I figured it would pick up more the specifics of my hardware. Which turned out to not be the case.

A rather vague search turned up a similar computer model to yours struggling with similar issues on Ubuntu 20.04, though a few posters mention solutions that worked for them:

That link may have already been posted- But the gist of the idea…
Distro hopping MAY help. For all I know- Zorin LITE may act differently. But if hopping, might steer a wide berth around clear Ubuntu Derivitives.
Linux Mint might work as a starting point if you want to stick with APT and other familiar architecture.

That coupled with seeing like five “mic, speakers, sound” improperly or not working threads on the forum lately - tells me it came from up the pipe.
