back at zorinOS 17 Core there was always a popup in the middle top of the screen if I connected a new drive, usb-drive and so on. Now with ZorinOS 18 I never had that before. I have to admit I changed my default file manager to nemo, but I did the same change with zorinOS 17 and still received a popup notification in the middle top of the screen, so I could click it and it opened the drive with nemo or the default file manager, which was a very nice feature. maybe it was a tweak/gnome extension but in the gnome extension store I couldn't find anything like that :confused:

Is this gnome extension enabled? Take a look at extension manager >installed.

I'm not sure if it is needed for the popup, but you could test.

Hm, I don't know what this message means. On my Zorin 18 live boot stick "Removable drive menu" is preinstalled and enabled. But when I connect a USB stick an icon appears in the panel to select the stick and then the file manager is opened.

/usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions

if you have a file there with the name

drive-menu@gnome-shell-extensions.gcampax.github.com

If yes, you could delete this file and then try the installation again.
