I use a KVM switch to flip my monitor, keyboard and mouse between my Zorin Pro and Windows 11 PC minis.
After this morning's update (7-17-2026) the display has changed behavior.
Before, switching the KVM back and forth was no problem. After, the display is absent when I switch the KVM from Windows back to Zorin OS 18.1 Pro (Wayland)
The screen is black, the monitor is "off". I click and move the mouse, hit Shift a few times and eventually the screen returns. This is after a few minutes.
If I switch to Windows and back quickly, the screen is there for a few seconds, then shuts itself off. I can only assume that the KVM switch has something to do with this issue.
Can anyone tell me what setting (or change in setting) has appeared with this update, and what option I have to return the behavior to the same as yesterday?

So, You have a Dual-Boot System? Then, you should have a GRUB Menu. Choose there ''Advanced Options'' and then choose the 6.17 Kernel to boot into it. Then check if it works again.

This is a Zorin-only system. But yes, I had already configured it to provide some boot options at startup; after an earlier issue with the display (drivers).
Yes, selecting the 6.17 Kernel would provide a system which worked as before this post.
Today, there was another rash of updates, which included a bunch of Nvidia stuff. The system seemed to behave much better after an immediate reboot following that. KVM action was met with a better response.
I'm gonna keep an eye on it after some more reboots, and will circle back here if the issue presents again.
UPDATE - It's been 8 days now with no recurrence, case closed.
