I downloaded the appImage for Tuta Mail from their website and it works perfectly. But when I decided to move the AppImage into a new folderI created calledd ~/Applications it lost the connection to the system and can no longer be launched through the Zorin menu.
I know there's a file somewhere to edit the path etc of an appImage but I'm unsure of where that resides... Does anyone know?
I then foolishly installed an app called GearLever to manage app images which didn't work out for me. So I uninstalled that.
My current state is a "gear icon" in the dock which can't be pinned to the dock. And the app can only be launched by clicking it in my Applications folder.
I've tried deleting and reinstalling Tuta mail 5 times by now, but apparently there are some other settings I need to get rid off. It worked perfectly the first time when it was still in the Downlooads folder. But I don't want to keep it there-
In the Zorin menu editor (right-click on the Zorin menu, then you can edit it) choose your app and go to properties. There you can set up the command. Change the path of the file there.
I can't right click it either. I would need to get rid of "all traces" and just start over. Download the app from Tuta, put it in the ~/Applications folder I created for this. And it will work. It did the first time but it was in the Downloads folder and then when I wanted to organise things neatly it "broke" of sorts.
So I need somewhere to read about how to register (and unregister) app images. So that I can remove the old config still preventing things from working.
I knew it was this sort of thing from having fiddled a bit with Ubuntu as my second computer before now taking the leap to Zorin Pro with my "real computer". But I didn't now how to find this information.
Now I'm back. Phew.
