Network/wi-fi adapter option missing

I am not sure why that stopped working:

And if WiFi was now working, I would consider it better to proceed.
But now, neither is working.

Technically, from a driver point of view, the broadcom WiFi should be working, now.
I am at a loss.

It may be that you would need to get a more Linux Compatible WiFi USB dongle to bypass this issue entirely.

I see, I wonder if there is a more optimal distro for my PC then…

Distro's that are more welcoming to older hardware or e-waste conscious may be.

Remember, the Broadcom driver is proprietary, so no distro can ship with it plug 'n' play.

But, some distro's may have more backports in place that make it easier to get it installed and running.
You might test MX Linux, Mint, Antix, Peppermint OS and see if more luck.

I am not opposed to us continuing to try to get it working, either. I figured you may be feeling like you are banging your head against the wall at this point.
That said, I will need you to provide verbose outputs in continued troubleshooting.
We are mostly in the dark; we cannot see your terminal output unless you show us - a comment like "It didn't work" tells us next to nothing.

Spending five posts trying to get context and one post suggesting instructions is inefficient.

I am willing to experiment with Mint again since I am a little more familiar with it… there is a recent Reddit thread by a user with the same PC that was able to get their Wifi drivers functioning so I would like to try it out

Also, my apologies, I did not mean to be so vague. When I’d say nothing happened, I just meant that the terminal did not output anything, specifically in regards to the ā€œsudo modprobeā€ commands

I’ve decided to move on from this. I do want to express my sincerest thanks for sticking around to help, I don’t want to take up any more of anyone’s time so I will leave things be for now

It is pretty human and normal and I struggle with myself either being too verbose or too vague, all the time...

I hope that it can be solved one way or another. If a different distro eases that - all the better.
If you prefer to use Zorin OS, we can try options. In the end, the wifi dongle idea is not a huge expense - it is an unhappy workaround.
