Just installed a new ssd in my HP Pavilion laptop. went to the bios and under configuration UEFI is set at AHCI.
When I try to install Zorin 18 os it will not get past the RST turn off. There is no other os on the drive.

Are Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS disabled?
So, Your BIOS is in UEFI Mode. What Tool did You use to create the Bootstick? Did You have used GPT Partition Sheme for the Stick so that it fits to Your UEFI BIOS?
Are You able to start the Bootstick in Live Mode? If yes, start it and in Live Mode look for GParted and choose there Your Drive if possible. Look if anything is on the Drive. And it would be good when You could post a Picture of the Partition Overview here.
