Newly installed RAM is not detected

A little birdie told me that is where you are from but I didn't want to reveal that as that is up to you .... LOL ... I wanted to explain to others that here people use things until they totally disintegrate and then toss them ... or make them into something else .... Filipinos are extremely resourceful .... it is astonishing to see what they can come up with ....

If the junk man finds electronics in the trash they take them to the repair shops who strips them down and salvage what they can to put into other computers or other devices which people bring them in to repair ... sometimes charging you new prices because who can tell .... some are honest and some not so ...

As far as treating women differently in the tech world I personally feel that it is more based on cultures as some still feel that women are inferior .... and sadly nothing is going to change that ....

Frog, love the new avatar buddy. You will say ribbit, and your gonna leap into action, you jump in there, and you tell em different. You tell him start respecting woman and treating them right, or they all gonna get the Frog curse lol.

Yeah. Just think how I always recycle notebooks to make new notebooks. Hahahahaha. Turn a little container into a holder. Worn out christmas decor, revived by little touch etc. Head set always got repaired its cable to be useful. I like it in some way, though when it was too much then it isn't desirable. hahahaahha

Reducing waste, e-waste and pollution is a good thing.
Recycling can benefit everyone if done properly.

I like the idea of making tech related Christmas tree ornaments, now thats thinking outside the box. The easiest ones to do of course are optical disks, they are already shinny, and they have a hole in the middle, perfect size, for putting on a tree branch. HEHE

But so many other possibilities, you could take old motherboards or GPU's, that are worthless now, and cut them up, put a hole in them, and hang them on a tree. If someone asks, is that a CPU hanging on the tree, you can say yes it is.

This years Christmas tree, powered by Intel, accelerated by AMD. WOW, and it really lights up too. LED's taken out of computers, powered off of LED light controller, via ATX power supply, rainbow inducing deliciousness.

Santa gonna bring you something nice for Christmas. Well, he better, he owes me for saving his sleigh that broke down last year on top of my roof. He needed a new heat exchange water pump. The steam coming off of it was so great, Rudoff couldn't even see his shinny red nose.

I bought a temperature adjustable soldering iron a while ago and started repair small appliances myself.
I watched some YouTube video to get the tutorials.

The complete soldering kit was close to 100 Euro but After I managed to repair one Waterpic, the soldering iron paid for itself :moneybag:

It is pity the school do not teach girls how to solder in Japan. It is excursive to boys. When it comes for a mortar coordination, girls are even better than boys at the same age.

And I am super proud of you for getting that soldering kit and fixing that waterpick. I really love it that you are fixing stuff now, you remind me of me. Mechanic, and darn good at it. HEHE. FrenchPress gets 5-stars for fixing her WaterPick.

Girls can do anything guys can, if only given a chance. :slightly_smiling_face:

I can find no evidence to support this. Most any peer reviewed journal study shows that Boys and Girls generally are on equal Level with fine and gross motor skills:

I can only find one advanced study that states Girls perform better then boys... Except that it performs no actual tests and relied on teacher Observation reports on whether students bump into things. It is poorly conducted and did little to eliminate Bias. And whether children bump into things is less about motor skills and more about whether or not they care to bother avoiding obstacles. Aggression traits are just as likely to cause boys to be haphazard in navigating their environment.
Girls have better motor skills than boys do.

In the past, similar (and likely biased or poorly conducted) studies claimed boys had better motor skills, which suggests a problem when two studies yield opposite results:

The general current accepted mainstream consensus among Child Psychology and Educators is that there is no statistical difference. (At least in USA... I cannot find anything on that for France or for Japan.)

I was just repeating the words of my ex who was a school teacher.
But I should check up those articles you gave links.

This one is very interesting as it asserts that while there may be differences in technique that cause male or female subjects to approach a problem differently, they often achieve the same results.
Men's and Women's Brains Are Wired Differently, But What Does It?

This suggests that while men and women may be different... These differences do not demonstrate a lack of ability in either.

I apologize... When it comes to the Sciences I am pretty strict. Just the facts; nothing personal.

I remember quite a while ago, there was this "popular" science, the theory of male brain and female brain. I think that one is completely denied now. One should always watch out for pseudoscience.

Absolutely no need for apology.
Being a professional scientist myself, I know what matters is the fact not a personal opinion.

We seem to have derailed Rui's solved thread to epic proportions, too.
Evidently, your female brain and my male brain are on equal footing on tangent treading.

This is why FrenchPress says the human body shouldn't consume too much sugar, cause this happens!

It wasn't taught here too. Just, my father do those things and since I was a child I'm watching him do a lot of works like carpentry and repairing. I don't want to always lean to others in small stuff so.

My parents generation went through war.
They sure made/repaired everything themselves.
They never taught me anything but I learnt Do It Yourself attitude just watching them.

Also, about your thought in Japan, I remember in Asian countries still have this tradition that girls "need" to learn household chores to take care of the family while boys "need" to learn how to work. My mother often scold me about that but for me, it should be balance or personal preference.

In traditional Japan, it still exists. Males go out and work, females expected to stay home, take care of the child, and do the other related house work. There is a statistical study that shows a low percentage of males help out in the home, even while married!

Equality takes a long time to get to, its truly sad that this is the case, and I think its wrong. I have always been at the mindset that woman are equal to men. This is what we should be teaching.

You will always have my full support Rui, and I would even fight for your right in equality. But the point is, nobody should have to fight for that stuff, it should be a God given right. But sadly, there are some, who fight against that right.

You spoke of balance. Balance is the best place for the mind and soul to be. For many try to fight against that balance, for they believe they can attain a greater position, or greater skill, or power, by fighting said balance.

But at the end of the day, you can only find peace in the balance. But for now, we must fight so everyone gets equality.
