I am new to ZorinOS and I am trying to read my mails from both yahoo and gmail.
Unfortunately much to my frustration I cannot as they both take me through a loop of not accepting my passwords. I tried this on firefox and brave and I get the same problem.
I tried this on my old Win 10 pc and it works fine.
I also tried this in a Win10 VM on the same machine and that works just fine.
This is the last critical piece for me to dump windows11 and now I am stymied.
I could use the VM, but I only installed it so I could eventually ditch it.
Can anyone please help?
You're just trying to login to your services online through a browser? It seems odd that that would be causing a problem for you. Could you make sure that your keyboard layout is correct, or that your caps lock is on in Zorin? And when you're getting the loop of login window, does any error ever pop up (or little red text) or does it just go back to the same login window with absolutely no difference?
I know when I have problems with my passwords, I get angry enough that I type out my password in like Gedit or something, then copy the whole string and paste it in, so that I know that my fat fingers aren't causing the problem.
I have no problem accessing yahoo (ATT) mail accounts in Zorin, although my preferred option is to put all my email accounts through Betterbird to consolidate the inboxes into one. I just tried opening Yahoo direct and it worked fine. Could it have something to do with the browser you are using for Zorin and/or some of its default security settings? Do you have popups blocked for example but it's trying to get you to do something security related in a popup?
I second NickS's recommendation. I have both my Yahoo and gmail accounts loaded in Thunderbird, a great way to manage them together and cut out all of the excess clutter from both sites. I also have no problems accessing both of them through Brave, Chrome, and Firefox, so I know it's possible.
I recently switched to Zorin OS and I’m loving it so far, but I’ve run into a wall with Yahoo Mail.
Every time I try to log in, I get this error: "Something went wrong. We could not sign you in. Try again from a different device."
I don't want to switch back to my old OS, but I need my email for work/daily life. Has anyone encountered this or knows how to fix it? Thanks in advance!
I use yahoo mail most days on Zorin through the vivaldi browser with no problem and also through the Betterbird app (for consolidated inbox with my other email accounts).
Are you perhaps using a VPN with a virtual location that yahoo doesn't like? Or are you trying to use a windows yahoo app that won't function in Zorin?
