Anybody get the newsletter. Is it worth it to sign up?
Needless to say... I do.
Emails from it are few and far between, strictly informative and generally deal with releases. You may go a year without getting news.
Worth it? Yes, because it can alert you to important Zorin OS changes - like Lite being sunset or a new release.
And it cannot be considered Spam, because it does not send you marketing offers.

If you are active on the forum, you probably will see any news here before the newsletter.
I think not a painful decision. Since it is not spammy, it is low risk. If life and such means hiatus from this board, you will still get an email alert on important things.
If not, it's probably not the end of the world.
It can answer when Zorin OS 19 is released. But not tell you when to expect it...

So, probably being active on the forum gets me more information than the newsletter?

You bring something up about the Kernel. Being so new to Linux. I have been shy. So to speak. I have no idea what anybody is talking about the "Kernel". I rarely used BIOS in windows. Than I only got the Black/Blue Screen of "Death" sometimes. No clue about the Kernel.
Consider the Kernel to be the Spine of the system. The nerve endings spread outward to reach everything else.
As the backbone, it supports operations, drivers, display, graphics - everything that runs, processes or computes.
