No sound with Realtek

I have a dual boot windows 11 and Zorin 18 system with a built-in Realtek sound card. I have sound in windows but nothing in Zorin. I show sound in the input graphs but no sound from the speakers. In alsamixer nothing is muted and I have tried all available sound cards. Any help would be great, Thanks

Update: Windows was reporting a Realek card, but I discovered it's actually a built-in AMD sound card

From terminal (opened by Ctrl+Alt=T), type:

alsamixer

Hit F6 to show your soundcards.
Post a screenshot of that here.

  • Are Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS disabled?
  • Is Fast Start-Up in Windows disabled?
  • Did you checked Pulse Audio Volume control? It is a Tool for set up audio Input and Output. You can install it with sudo apt install pavucontrol and check there the Output Tab and the Configuration Tab if Your Audio Device is listed.

Your situation with no sound in Zorin OS despite showing input activity and unmuted settings can be tricky, especially with hybrid or integrated audio hardware like AMD and Realtek.
