NVIDIA 390 driver

Ah...

sudo apt install linux-oem-22.04

i talked to micro center on call and they said to remove the cmos battery and on again after 10 minutes and nothing changed. final conclusion he had was jsut return and get a new one

i inserted that and no detection still

It shows present in apt search command.

whats that mean?

Searching the repository, the package is present. I am not sure why you said the terminal command does not work, as I cannot see your screen, nor know what terminal output you showed.

Combining this with @applecheeks37's post, you may be looking at a different issue than software anyway.
Have you tried reseating the card?

When re-seating any card or RAM chip, I do recommend blowing canned air, on both the slots and card or chip, to get rid of possible dust. Then after that, re-seat/re-install.

idk how to do what @applecheeks3 said. and yes i reseated the card multiple times. its not the cable or the slot since previous card worked.

Basically what we're getting at is that at this point this seems more like a hardware fault issue than anything software related. If the folks over at micro centre were trying to get your card going and recommend a replacement, I would possibly go that route.

In addition, I've never been to a micro centre before, but I've seen through some videos that they do live tech support in like, little corners of the stores. It could be worth bringing your whole machine there and seeing if they'd be able to help get something going. Even if only you are able to troubleshoot while you're there, it would save you the hastle of running back and forth between home and the store.

still nothing

true ill try that as last resort.

yeah i reinserted it did eveything right and still. imnomw to micro center

Glad to hear it was just a defective computer, and Micro-Center once again, honors its reputation for being the best ever computer store, honoring their 30-day return policy & product warranties. Heck yeah!

ok cool so how do i fix this?

I am not sure how to interpret this. Are you saying that the fans are still not spinning - the new card also does not work?

isint the card supoosed to show image on boot? like i put it and no fans spin and no signal. gotta swich to the motherboard image

To me, this sounds like the card is not being recognized.
What is your terminal output for

sudo lshw -C video

Or better yet if you are willing:

sudo apt install inxi

inxi -G

Is GPU card installed in the right slot on the mobo. Before you ask, yes it matters what slot it is in. Generally, the GPU slot, is the one directly below the CPU. It will be a long 16X slot, and its often colored differently then the other slots.

Make sure that your display cable works as well. Bad cables cause 50% of GPU problems regarding getting a display to fire up. I say this, I've experienced this myself earlier this year! I got a cable I proffered, cause it was a nice meshed wrapped cable.

Unfortunately, the cable's performance claims were exaggerated putting it nicely. I had to buy a less nice looking cable, but a better performing cable, which allowed the display to fire up an image on screen.
