hi everyone
i am currently troubleshooting a game not rendering with the developer of the linux patch. the log they told me to look for implies that it needs nvidia driver version 595 and zorin os only has 580. gemini says a way i can install it cleanly is with "the official ubuntu/zorin graphics drivers ppa" using the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
sudo apt update
sudo ubuntu-drivers list (and check for nvidia driver 595)
sudo apt install nvidia-driver-595 nvidia-dkms-595
i just want to make sure this wont break anything, either with the os itself or the software installed.
thanks!

These two commands will get you up to the 595
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
sudo apt update && sudo apt install nvidia-driver-595 nvidia-dkms-595

That is actually not true. In the Repos is the 595 Driver available. There is even the 610 Driver:
So, you should be able to use this Command:
directly to install the Driver. Alternatively, take a _Look at the ''Additional Drivers'' Tab in Software & Updates.
Could You also say what Nvidia Card You have? I ask because when it is a 10XX Card, You can't go higher than 580 because the Support for these Card in the higher Drivers was cutted.
