I've recently migrated from Windows 10 to Zorin 17. I've tried to set up an Outlook email account in Evolution. When my password is entered and Evolution is requesting a token, Evolution crashes. Outlook, however, has set up Evolution for access. When I re-open Evolution, the Outlook account isn't there
You can try to switch to Xorg.
Logout and at login click on your profile then a cog wheal appears at the bottom right. There select "Zorin Desktop on Xorg". Login with your password normally.
What are your computer specs?
Do you have enabled fractional scaling?
Do you use the preinstalled evolution package or another one (e.g. flatpak)?
Can I find computer specs in Zorin?
Brand new to Linux so have no idea what fractional scaling is or if it's enabled or not.![]()
Using g pre-installed Evolution package.
What brand/model is your computer? How much RAM do you have?
In settings>about you can find some.
The fractional scaling is at settings>display. It is better to disable it with low RAM.
I have an Asus G750-JW (ROG) laptop - not used for gaming. It has 16GB RAM.
Processor is Intel i7-4700HQ CPU @ 2.4GHzx8.
Fractional scaling is disabled.
Sorry I'm not into this OS yet but I'm trying. Also having issue with OS freezing up when I use only WiFi adapter. Have proper driver installed as far as I know because it does t show under additional drivers in software update.
Do you have an Nvidia card? If yes,
which graphics driver is shown in use when you go to Software&Updates >Additional drivers?
Currently using the "NVIDIA Server Driver metapackage from nvidia-driver-418-server (proprietary)".
Are secure boot and fast boot in your BIOS disabled and if you use dualboot with Windows is also fast startup disabled there?
Yes. Both have been disabled. Only have Zorin on this laptop now.
Are you on XOrg now?
Will be when you reply again. Give me 2 minutes.
On XOrg now
Can you please try if Evolution works now?
Same issue. While searching for token, Evolution shuts down. Outlook account isn't there when I re-open Evolution.
I used Exchange Web Services for server type, OAuth2 (Outlook) for authentication, clicked fetch URL, and logged in with password.
I find it far easier to use Thunderbird Mail which is available in the Software store. It's far less hassle to deal with than Evolution. It works without issue with MS Hotmail/Outlook, Gmail etc.
So if you are still struggling, check that out instead. I use the Zorin-OS Thunderbird Mail package rather than the snap or flatpak builds
Thanks but I figured it out. Need to use Evolution so I can deal with .PST files from Outlook.
Found my solution. Had to use "Online Accounts" and select the Microsoft icon. Selecting Microsoft Exchange wouldn't work. Have all my email accounts set up now. Thanks for your help.
Now all I need to figure out is why my laptop freezes when I'm only on WiFi

What is the output of
sudo lshw -C network
in terminal? This command shows your network cards and drivers. Please post it here.
Which proper wlan driver do you have installed? What command did you use? You can see the previous entered commands in terminal when you enter "history" in terminal.
Can you please describe the issue more detailed? Your laptop crashes when you connect to wifi or while using wifi? Do you have a browser opened then or does it crash when you have opened special apps?
If it is a problem with the browser you can try if it helps to disable hardware/graphics acceleration in your browser settings.
sudo lshw -c network

This is the result from using sudo lshw -c network.
The Broadcom driver was the only one listed in "Additional Drivers" so I selected it.
It doesn't seem to be any particular app that makes Zorin freeze up. Not that I can tell anyway. Just seems that after a certain amount of time while connected to WiFi that Zorin just freezes.
In the meantime, I have disabled hardware/graphics acceleration in my browser.
Further to last message, I was using WiFi for over an hour this morning and when I opened "Software Updater" to check for updates, Zorin froze while checking for updates. Hooked back up to ethernet cable now.
