Here are some Trobleshootings with this NVRam Locked Issue:

Error: NVram is locked (Zorin not found in efibootmgr)

Alright - I do see RAID settings. Try changing that to AHCI.. Don't normally see this one a lot, but when it does come up, I usually tend to forget about that one - definite good catch @Aravisian

It looks like this is an NVRAM Locked issue. There are several things that can cause this; including that some Windows Udpates can cause it to happen. I agree with you; I doubt it was caused by anything that you were doing. Sadly, this is an issue that has many causes and therefor, many solutions. ...maybe? If you had set up and created the partition, but then installed Zorin on MBR as Legacy...
