This comes up each time, but Brave is working beautifully? Shouldn't normal software updates handle this automatically?
It's supposed to pop up in a software update and not updated manually everytime a new version comes out.
Newest version popped up today:
Release Notes v1.88.134 (Mar 19, 2026)
- [Security] Fixed “Gate3” explorer URL validation to prevent XSS. ([#53501])
- Fixed separator being visible at top of video while in fullscreen. ([#53555])
- Upgraded Chromium to 146.0.7680.153. ([#53761] [Changelog for 146.0.7680.153]
Are you on this version?
sudo apt upgrade brave-browser
How is Brave installed? As Flatpak or .deb Version?
What is the terminal output of
sudo apt update
?
I had the same error on Zorin OS 18's default shipped brave. I removed that one.
And installed via official script:
curl -fsS https://dl.brave.com/install.sh | sh
