I made my first attempt with Zorin OS 18 Core, which I successfully downloaded and installed on my Dell XPS 8700.
Tested my installation for a few days without encountering any particular problem but some occasional freeze of the screen when using the browser Brave. I resolved the issue simply installing Opera browser.
Now I am trying to install the Pro version of Zorin 18 which is reveling very frustrating.
I tried to prepare my USB driver using both Rufus and Balena Etcher and in both cases as soon as I restart my computer with the USB plugged in the system returns the following message:
"GNU GRUB Version 2.12
Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists
possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device
or file completions. To enable less (1)-like paging, "set page=1". "
The ISO file was not corrupted. Checked the checksum before proceeding.
Anyone can help or give support with this problem.
What size is the USB stick? What is it formatted to?
Zorin OS Pro is quite a bit larger than Core or Lite and can exceed the maximum if using FAT format.
I would try using Ventoy instead. It's the only thing I use now. You prep the USB with ventoy, then throw as many iso's on it that will fit. You'll boot to a Ventoy menu allowing you to boot any of the iso's you have on the USB.
Is this after the Installation or before? Are Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS disabled? Is Fast Start-Up in Windows disabled? Is Your BIOS in UEFI or Legacy Mode?
If you have Zorin 18 Core installed you can upgrade it to Pro from Settings/System /Upgrade Zorin you just need the code that you received when you purchased the Pro version that is what i did anyway. If its not what you are trying to do I apolgise I am new to Zorin 18 as well.
