I wanted to see how Zorin differs from Mint. I bought a 256gb M.2 PCIe and enclosure to install Zorin on. I formatted the SSD using Diskpart, but when I try to make the partitions it says there is no free space, yet when I look at the SSD in Windows disk manager it says it is empty.
did you make the format ext4? did you then format it after doing so to make sure it was empty and ready for use...also its easier to install Zorin if its the only drive it can see
No, I formatted on my windows pc as exFAT. I will try the ext4 format. Could not find out how to do that. I have done this before and never encounter this problem. Maybe I can find another way to install Zorin.

The Zorin automatic installer includes formatting the drive, so you can install Zorin OS on that new and empty drive by selecting the option to "Wipe and install" and letting the installer format it for you.

I had to convert the SSD to gpt after creating the primary partition, then I was able to install Zorin.
