Problems with integrated Keyboard and Mouse

uname -a:

Linux X13-zorin 6.8.0-49-generic #49~22.04.1-Ubuntu SMP REEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed Nov 6 17:42:15 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Model and specifications of Laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga X13 Gen4

So I had a very severe problem with my keyboard today: After the booting sequence the keyboard did not work at all. I have found that I uninstalled the xserver-xorg-input-libinput application to try to fix an issue with my mousepad. Now I installed xserver-xorg-input-all (which, from my research, also installs the libinput application) and now I am back to a running keyboard, but I am having a different problem now: Natural scrolling (inverted scrolling) does not work and neither does the settings app, when trying to activate it or deactivate it. Other mousepad settings also seem unresponsive and I have the feeling that something is not working right with the synaptic driver and I can't seem to understand, what the issue is.

What further information would be needed, to help me out here?

I'd appreciate any tips, and I'm ready to give all the information needed.

--- UPDATE ---

I've identified the problems: It's the synaptics driver for the touchpad, which is not configurable through the settings app.
Now I also had a problem with the touchpad (libinput) in the past, where online it was recommended to maybe try the synaptics driver. The problem I had with the normal driver was: Periodically it was getting sluggish and delayed and after a while it would go back to normal. Now I couldn't find any specific moment or trigger for this behaviour, but it is annoying.
Maybe with this somebody could help?

Another option would be, to use the synaptic driver, but with that one the settings app does not work as intended. How would I change the settings app to change the synaptic driver settings?

There is a separate application available called 'touchpad' if I remember correctly. Does that help?

Welcome to the Forum!

Open the Terminal and type apt list xserver-xorg-input-libinput to check if this specific Package is really installed.

$ apt list --installed xserver-xorg-input-*
Listing... Done
xserver-xorg-input-all/jammy,now 1:7.7+23ubuntu2 amd64 [installed]
xserver-xorg-input-libinput/jammy,now 1.2.1-1 amd64 [installed]
xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/jammy,now 1.9.1-1ubuntu3 amd64 [installed]
xserver-xorg-input-wacom/jammy,now 1:1.0.0-3ubuntu1 amd64 [installed,automatic]

It is really installed. Right now I'm running on the synaptics driver, so the delay is not coming back

apt couldn't find the application touchpad, which one do you mean?

Only ask for clarify: Your system runs in Xorg, yes? To check that go to Settings>About and there look for the Line ''Window Manager''.

Should there stand Wayland, go to the Login Screen and click on Your Profile so that the Password Field appears. It has to be appeared! When it is appeared, You should see in the bottom right Corner a Gear Icon. Click on it and choose the Option ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in and test if it works.

Can't find Window Manager, but Windowing System: X11

Do a search for Touchpad in Software. It might be the Gestures package I was thinking about. Another possible option is using your smartphone using Zorin Connnect/KDE Connect's input option.

Okay, it is already X11. I hav an Idea but I don't know if it would work. I've found a Program called Touché that is for set up a Touchpad. You can find it in the Gnome Software Store as a Flatpak:
