As of right now, I have Zorin 18 pro running on an external USB Drive.
Grub is in EFI mode alongside my Windows system drive.
Picture.
Partition 2 contains the EFI and Grub.
The external drive is just the / Filesystem, plus what appears to be an empty EFI partition.
My motherboard has 4 M.2 slots. Right now the Windows+Efi etc are in the top slot.
I propose to by a new 2Tb Nvme drive and install in slot 1, move the current Windows/EFI drive to slot 3, leave slot 2 as the Data drive which is shared between the 2 OSs.
Then use a windows partition manager to clone the entire external drive to the new M.2 drive.
My only lack is knowing how to get Grub to use the new drive. Any ideas?
You could reorganize Your Disc Arrangement and then simply make a fresh Install of Zorin. That could avoid eventually Issues.
Another Thing: When You are ready with changing everything, start Zorin from the Bootstick in Live Mode and let ''Boot Repair'' run.
Yeah I figured I'd have to re-install, just wondered if there was a way to re-point Grub without that.
I have backed up the system so I figure reinstall on new drive then restore /home/username from the backup. That should work, right ?
Could, but don't have to. I would definetely recommend to make a BackUp from all Your Data and have a Bootstick with Zorin ready - just in Case.

I might just do the whole reinstall thing. Depends if the restore does something funky.
Have: Backup, USB stick with Zorin. I assume I just plug my Pro key in on the upgrade app once installed? Do I have to deactivate the old one?
Yes. But when You would download the Pro ISO directly, You wouldn't have to go the Upgrade Path.
What do You mean with ''old one''? Your current Installation? Then no.
Ok, thats good.. Had too many tools where you need to deactivate a code before using it again. Good to know.
