Question about booting into Live Media

Hi everyone! Yesterday I tried installing ZorinOS on my friend's PC and unfortunately we couldn't get the PC to recognize the Zorin OS USB stick as a boot option, even though we tried functional USB ports. The USB stick is also verified to work since it did work in his laptop.

When we went into the BIOS menu, there was only "USB Mass Storage Device" and that didn't boot at all, even after waiting 5 minutes. All we saw was a blinking "_"(maybe that was a different boot, not our USB stick after all).

What could we do to investigate this?

PC age: more than 7 years old
I could send more specific PC info here if needed by asking him to go into PC Information on windows.

Thanks a lot in advance!!

Disable secure boot in the BIOS. Some computers don't boot from USB when it is enabled.
Make sure that when you create the boot stick you choose GPT as partition scheme if you have a UEFI (and MBR if you have a legacy BIOS).

Beneath @Forpli's Things: What Tool did You use to create th bootable USB Stick? Is on the Machine still Windows installed? If yes, disable Fast Start-Up in Windows.
