this happens like every week but I'm just doing my thing and i get randomly signed out please help and is there a fix to this.
Welcome to the forum!
Could you explain exactly what you're being signed out of? Are you talking about being signed out of a website that you're visiting, maybe your browser or an application, or the actual operating system itself?
I'm being signed out of zorin os as a whole.
Uh. Might wanna watch your spelling a bit more closely next time. What version of Zorin? 17? 18?
I'm running zorin os 18
Oh, I don't know... that gave me a much needed laugh.
But.... I took the liberty of correcting the spelling in the post in question. ![]()
It sounds like the Gnome Shell is crashing which results in you being kicked back to the Log In Screen.
Have you installed / added any Gnome Shell Extensions?
Can you relay your logs?
journalctl -b | grep -i gnome
or
journalctl -b -1 -p err
Also, it may be GPU related, so note if you are logging in on Wayland or Xorg
and your GPU details May Help.
I do have GNOME shells installed does it have to do with that?
Meant were Extensions:
yes sorry that's what i meant, i was thinking of shell chocolate
It could be. You can test that by disabling any non-default extensions, doing a full cycle reboot and testing.
How do i do that?
Look in gnome Software for Extension Manager and intsall it:
When installed, open it and go to the ''Installed'' Tab. there You can enable/disable Extensions.
