Recover from Grub Rescue

Hello,

I installed zorin os in my old laptop[installed 1/2 years before, I dont know what version of zorin os installed]
after some times i did not used, then i opened, i got the grub rescue window shows error: unkown file system

I read few blogs to recover from this error

so, I tried these steps

> ls
(hd0) (hd0,msdos1) (fd0) (fd1)
>ls (hd0)
(hd0): Filesystem is unknown.
>ls (hd0,msdos1)
(hd0,msdos1): Filesystem is unknown.
>ls (fd0)
error: fd0 cannot get C/H/S values.
>ls (fd1)
error: fd1 cannot get C/H/S values.

How to solve this, Thanks

It appears your hard disk is corrupt. Either the drive is failing or it was stored by a strong electrical source (creating magnetic fields).

Unfortunately the only thing you can do is boot from a live image, check the drive for errors, and fix them, and hopefully it recovers. Otherwise, reinstall and hope it's not a failing drive.

could you please share the instruction for how to check the drive for errors and how to fix them after booting the live image

You can check disks supported by smart with this.
